Board Meetings

In accordance with The Open Meetings Act, Mississippi Code Ann. § 25-41-5 – Official Meetings of Public Bodies:

All official meetings of any public body, unless otherwise provided in this chapter or in the Constitution of the United States of America of the State of Mississippi, are declared to be public meetings and shall be open to the public at all times unless declared an executive session as provided in § 25-41-7.

The Mississippi Board of Optometry shall hold meetings for examinations, beginning the second week of January and the second week of July of each year, and additional meetings at such times and places as the Board shall determine. Refer to the Mississippi State Board of Optometry Rules and Regulations, Rule 2.2 for information related to public participation in meetings.

Minutes shall be kept of all meetings and shall be open to public inspection during regular business hours of the Board Office of the Mississippi State Board of Optometry. Refer to the Mississippi State Board of Optometry Rules and Regulations, Rule 2.1(a) – (j) for further information regarding the necessary protocol to request copies of minutes from Optometry Board meetings.
